WHY FLIGHT STRENGTH?

Instead of opting for a traditional navy strength gin, we chose to celebrate the Great Bustard’s status as the world’s heaviest flying bird. The bottle is also adorned in RAF blue, a tribute to my grandfather, who was one of "the few"—a wingman in the Battle of Britain, to Sailor Milan of 74 Squadron (The Tigers).

ABOUT

Flight Strength celebrates the world’s heaviest flying bird, Wiltshire’s iconic yet critically endangered Great Bustard. With a stronger punch than our original Great Bustard Gin, it includes an extra ingredient foraged from the Wiltshire Downs—rosehips. This addition brings a subtle sweetness that complements the herbal and spicy notes of yarrow, rocket and red clover. This creates a more complex and layered spiced flavour profile. It’s a gin that packs a punch while honouring the spirit of the land and the remarkable bird it’s named after.

  • 57% ABV @ 500ml
  • 225g of Alc / 1.4 Alc Units per 25ml

  • Distilled and bottled in Downton, Wiltshire
  • Small Batch, 100 bottles to a run, signed
  • King Charles III is the patron of the charity

Always Fantastic

I pre-ordered a bottle of Navy Strength Great Bustard gin the moment I heard it was going to be available. I didn't have to pay up front and it was delivered exactly when they said it would be, with various notifications and tracking info sent before. And of course the gin is delicious - blew my head off in a very dry martini. Downton produces some of the best gins I have ever tried (and I've tried a lot!). Thank you!!
