Downton Distillery was founded on the belief that businesses should contribute to the communities and landscapes that support them. Through long-term partnerships, fundraising initiatives, donations and collaborative projects, we support organisations that share our values of conservation, education, well being and service.
As a small independent distillery, we focus our efforts on a carefully selected number of causes where our support can create lasting impact. Rather than spreading resources thinly, we aim to build meaningful relationships that deliver measurable benefits for people, wildlife and the places we care about.
Each year we receive many requests for raffle prizes, bottle donations and fundraising support. While we are unable to support every request, every organisation featured below reflects causes and projects that align closely with our values and where we believe we can make the greatest difference.

PROTECTING WILTSHIRE'S WILDLIFE
CONSERVATION
The Great Bustard disappeared from Britain in 1832 and remains one of the country's rarest birds. Through our partnership with the Great Bustard Group, we help support conservation efforts on Salisbury Plain, where populations are slowly recovering. It is a long-term commitment to restoring one of Britain's most remarkable species and safeguarding its future.
RESTORING A LOST ICON
JUNIPER REWILDING
More than 80% of Wiltshire's historic juniper population has been lost through changing landscape management. Since 2022, we have planted over 140 saplings across multiple sites on the Wiltshire Downs, helping restore one of Britain's most iconic native species. It is a slow and costly process with a high mortality rate, but one that will help shape the landscape, wildlife and heritage of the Downs for generations to come.

Through tours, Great Bustard talks, community events and partnerships with organisations such as Tusk, we help connect people with conservation, wildlife and the natural world. From the Wiltshire Downs and its remarkable species to conservation projects across Africa, we aim to inspire curiosity, learning and a deeper appreciation of the landscapes around us.

GREAT BUSTARD GROUP
The Great Bustard became extinct in Britain in 1832. Today, through our partnership with the Great Bustard Group, we help support one of the world's most ambitious bird reintroduction programmes. Every bottle of Great Bustard Gin contributes a monthly dividend to the project, helping restore this remarkable species to the Wiltshire landscape it once called home.

Through our support of Tusk and brand ambassador Hannah Shergold, we help raise awareness and funds for wildlife conservation across Africa. From fundraising events to conservation collaborations, we are proud to support an organisation protecting some of the world's most iconic species and the landscapes they depend upon.

Great Ormond Street Hospital provides world-leading care for seriously ill children and their families. NAVAL WINGS
Naval Wings works to preserve Britain's naval aviation heritage, protecting historic aircraft and the stories behind them. Through fundraising initiatives and events, we are proud to support an organisation dedicated to keeping these iconic aircraft flying. Today, many remain airworthy and can be seen at airshows across Britain, bringing history to life for new generations.
PROTECTING LOCAL HABITATS
HABITAT AID
Habitat Aid specialises in supplying native plants that help restore Britain's landscapes and support wildlife. Through our partnership, we have sourced juniper saplings for our rewilding project on the Wiltshire Downs. We have also planted other native species once found on the Downs within our Distillery Garden, creating a valuable and safe habitat for pollinators and wildlife.

As a small independent distillery run by a single founder, every project, partnership and initiative represents a personal commitment to conservation, community and the Wiltshire Downs.
