About
The espresso martini began in London in the early 1980s. Dick Bradsell, working at the Soho Brasserie, created it after a guest asked for something that would “wake me up and taste great”. He pulled a shot of espresso, shook it with vodka, coffee liqueur, and sugar, and served it in a martini glass. The name stuck because of the glass, not because it contained gin or vermouth.
