We are delighted to announce that our Chardonnay Vodka has been awarded Double Gold at this year's World Vodka Awards, recognising both the quality of the spirit and the unique story behind its creation.
What makes this vodka particularly special is that it began life not as a grain or potato crop, but as Chardonnay grapes grown organically on the Domaine Hugo vineyard, just a few metres from the distillery. The project was born from a desire to create a premium spirit while making better use of materials that would otherwise have limited value after winemaking.
Following harvest, the Chardonnay grapes are pressed for wine. Rather than allowing the remaining grape pomace to go to waste, we carefully barrel it over winter before distilling it in early spring. This process captures delicate fruit character and creates an exceptionally smooth vodka with a clean, elegant finish.
Sustainability sits at the heart of the entire production cycle. Once distillation is complete, the spent pomace is returned to the vineyard compost system. It is chipped and incorporated back into the soil, helping support future grape production and creating a circular approach to spirit making.
The packaging follows the same philosophy. Every bottle is made from 100% recycled glass and is finished with recycled cork and environmentally responsible labels. Later this year, refill pouches will also be introduced, allowing customers to reduce packaging waste even further. These can be sent back to us.
The judges recognised the vodka's purity, texture and character, awarding it the competition's highest accolade. We believe it shines when enjoyed neat, allowing its subtle vineyard origins to come through, although it also performs exceptionally well in a Vesper Martini where its clean profile and silky mouthfeel create a truly elegant cocktail.
This award demonstrates that exceptional spirits and responsible production can go hand in hand.
