The Enzoni cocktail is a modern twist on the classic Negroni, combining the bitterness of Campari with the refreshing taste of fresh grapes and the herbal notes of Great Bustard Gin.
It was created by Vincenzo Errico whilst working at the Match Bar in London in 2001. He started to use grapes pairing them with Campari, lemon, gin and sugar to create the Enzoni, a sour cocktail that would become one of contemporary cocktail culture’s earliest champions of bittersweet flavours. Grapes provide a soft sweetness when paired with lemon juice, create a grapefruit-like flavour, which naturally complements Campari’s citrus notes.
