The Peregrines of Salisbury Cathedral

The Peregrines of Salisbury Cathedral

Peregrine falcons returned to Salisbury Cathedral in 2014, having been absent for over 60 years. Since then 27 chicks have fledged in the South tower of the Cathedral. The chicks are tagged, with leg rings so they can be monitored once they leave the nest. Sadly 70% die within their first year. But it is not all sad news, as some of these youngsters have settled across the country raising their own families in Guernsey, Milton Keynes, Hertford and London (Lee Valley). This years chicks started to hatch 25th April and can be watched on the webcam feed below.
